Huatica is one of the consistent, affordable regional blends sourced directly from the vertically integrated supply chain under Sucafina Originals.

Huatica is the indigenous Colombian goddess of sexual freedom and music who loves to party. Huatica's love of drinking and partying was not welcomed by Bochica, the god of civilization, morality and law. As punishment, he turned Huatica into a white owl.

Each bag of Huatica purchased supports Sucafina Sustainability projects and partner communities. Within the scope of this support; These include improving rural schools, post-harvest training for quality production, access to clean water for communities, and agroforestry improvements on farms in the supply chain. Roasters can also contribute to community projects by supporting producers in the development and supply chain.

Sustainability projects are one of the many benefits of Huatica. With its vertically integrated supply chain and year-round harvest supply, Huatica will feel the wind under your wings.

The project's focus on producer flexibility and scorching success just means the Colombia Huatica regional blend will help you support and engage all producers in the supply chain.

The batch continues throughout the entire supply chain. Huatica was selected by the experienced Sucafina QC origin team and supplied with origin partners. It is sourced from many of the best producers in Colombia's most famous coffee growing regions. The combination of bright acidity and characteristic body is accompanied by exotic, fruity and slightly floral notes. With an 84+ cup score, the party must go on, Huatica, even if Bochica disapproves.

Harvest – Post Harvest

Huatica is sourced from small producers located in Colombia's most famous coffee growing regions. Manufacturers usually use the traditional fully washed processing method. Coffee cherries are hand-picked, usually on-farm cherries and beans are sorted. After the seeds are separated from the fruit, the seeds are kept in fermentation tanks for 26 or 36 hours. Then the parchment is washed with clean water and dried in the sun for 20 days in parabolic beds. Producers are paid a premium for sun dried and overall quality to keep it sustainable. In addition to the premium paid for quality, Sucafina is also supported by sustainable programs for communities. The bonus in each sack of Huatica directly supports projects in partner communities. The project also includes quality improvement trainings and agroforestry projects for producers in the supply chain.

Huatica can be supplied year-round; It has a characteristic body combination with bright acidity, exotic, fruity flavors and light floral notes.

Cola, malt and red fruit scents on the nose. On the palate, cranberry, cranberry, fig apple tart are prominent. It is reminiscent of Munich malt due to its malty, dried fruit and cookie-like flavors. As it cools, it turns into raisin and cranberry sorbet. This medium/ medium bodied coffee leaves the sweetness of brown sugar in the finish.

Leaded by Edilme Piedrahita, herself a local coffee producer in Asoguacharos, 27 producers produce unique coffees while maintaining high quality standards.

Each producer processes their own coffee on their own farm, and each one's own special conditions allow each producer to come up with unique variations. The coffee processing experience and application practices of the producers, coming from their traditional roots and handed down from generation to generation, have unique results on the final product they obtain. This traditional processing process, which results in delicious tastes and aromas, deserves to be expressed as the taste of the unique word. After the producers carefully select ripe, red cherries, they pulp the cherries on their farms and ferment them in buckets or tanks. After fermentation, the coffees are washed in clean water and left to dry in "marquesina", parabolic dryers typically found on the roofs of producers' homes.

The Huila-based group takes advantage of educational opportunities provided by NGOs and the national learning service SENA. Producers, who are distinguished members of Asoguacharos, gain access to the high quality coffee market and can demand better prices for their coffees thanks to their production by following high quality standards. In the future, the producer association, which plans to turn its farms into a center for ecotourism, is also taking steps to become conscious tourism professionals by participating in trainings on how to organize tours and how to attract visitors.
